Heights Cargo Limited ("Heights Cargo", "we", "us", "our") is a transport and logistics company registered in Kenya, with operations in Kenya, the United Kingdom, and China. We move cargo between the UK and Kenya and between China and Kenya by sea and by air, and we provide customs clearance, warehousing, and door-to-door delivery.

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website or ship with us, why we collect it, how we protect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to every visitor, enquirer, customer, and subscriber.

Information you give us directly

• Enquiry and quotation details: your name, email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, origin and destination, the type of cargo you are asking about, its weight or volume, and any message you write to us.
• Customer and shipment records: your company name, postal address, delivery address, KRA PIN (where required for customs), copies of invoices, packing lists, and the documents needed to clear your cargo.
• Marketing preferences: your email address and your choices when you subscribe to our updates, including confirmation of when and how you subscribed.
• Support conversations: messages you send us on WhatsApp, by phone, or by email, which we may keep on record to service your account.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: the pages you view, the links you click, how long you stay, and the route you took through the site.
• Device and browser data: your IP address, browser type, operating system, and screen size, used for security and to make the site work correctly.
• Calculator inputs: the route, mode, weight, and dimensions you enter into our rate calculator, stored in aggregate to improve the tool and our pricing. These logs are not linked to your identity unless you go on to request a quote.

3. Why We Use Your Data (and Our Legal Basis)

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that has a legal effect on you. Quotations are always reviewed by a person.

4. Marketing Emails and Your Choices

When you subscribe, we send occasional updates about rates, transit times, and shipping guides. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and one click removes you immediately. You can also unsubscribe by emailing inquiry@heightscargo.com or messaging us on WhatsApp.

If you have enquired about a shipment, we may reply by email or WhatsApp about that enquiry. This is not marketing, and it does not add you to any list.

Subscribers receive a double opt-in confirmation where applicable, so nobody can add you without your knowledge. Every email records whether it was delivered, opened, or bounced, which we use to keep our list healthy and stop sending to dead addresses.

We share personal data only where it is necessary to move your cargo or to run our business, and only with:

• Shipping lines, airlines, and handling agents, who need shipment and consignee details to carry your cargo.
• Customs and government bodies, including the Kenya Revenue Authority and port authorities, to clear and release your goods.
• Transport and delivery partners, who need the delivery address and contact number to complete the final mile.
• Insurance providers, when you ask us to arrange cargo cover.
• Service providers, such as our email delivery platform and website hosting, who process data on our instructions under contract.
• Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires disclosure, for example a court order or a tax audit.

We never sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Because we ship from the UK and China and use international service providers, your data may be processed outside Kenya. Where that happens, we take steps to make sure your data is protected to a standard equivalent to this policy: contractual clauses with our processors, limitation of transfers to what is necessary, and technical safeguards such as encryption in transit.

• Where we use third-party processors, we choose reputable providers and bind them contractually to protect your data.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we review our safeguards regularly and treat any incident seriously. If a breach affecting your data ever occurs, we will notify you and the regulator as the law requires.

• Access the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
• Rectify data that is wrong or incomplete.
• Erase data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
• Restrict or object to processing, including objecting to marketing at any time.
• Withdraw consent for marketing with immediate effect.
• Data portability, that is, receive data you gave us in a common, machine-readable format.
• Complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya if you believe we have mishandled your data.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use a small number of cookies and local storage entries to keep the site working and to remember your calculator preferences, such as your last selected route and mode. These are functional, not advertising. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.

You can clear or block storage in your browser settings at any time. The site will keep working, though the calculator will not remember your preferences.

Our services are directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
